Bordeaux's sweet wines from the Sauternes and Barsac are renowned the world over. The grapes are late harvested to encourage the fungal infection botritis, which effectively dehydrates the grapes intensifying the sugars resulting in a liquid gold nectar, irresistible and delicious, the perfect accompaniment to salty cheese or foie gras and creme brulee.

Produced from 95% Semillon and 5% Sauvignon Blanc, this wine from Clos Haut-Peyraguey is a perfect demonstration of excellent Sauternes wine. It may be ready to drink now, but a few more years of rest could see some interesting flavour development!
