The Chavy family have been residents of Puligny-Montrachet for over 200 years; the name has become synonymous with the reliable production of very fine Burgundy blanc. Alain and his brother took over management of the Domaine from his father in 1994, and split up in 2003, leaving Alain in sole control of the estate.
The domaine covers 6.5 hectares including several Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites and contains one of the few underground cellars in the commune. The wines themselves are barrel fermented for depth and intensity, some in large 400l barrels which add complexity without too much oak. The final wines are a demonstration of Alain's taste, restrained with ripe fruit and crisp acidity!
