Another individual Languedoc blend from Les Vignerons. We were surprised how well this combination of grapes works. Red fruits of the Grenache dominate the nose, but it is the silky gamey Pinot which comes through on the palate, great value here.
Grenache 70%, Syrah 30%. A very pleasant wine with aromas of ripe fruit, cherries, black currants and undergrowth. In the mouth, it is very smooth with good concentration. A lovely bottle full of charm and roundness. As with all of Domaine Lafond's wines, this has been very well rated among...
Produced in Montalcino, at 250m above sea level, this blend of Sangiovese and Colorino is a characterful expression of Tuscan wine. The soil is a medium mixture with remarkable skeletal presence adding excellent minerality to the vivid youthful red fruited flavours.
From the sister vineyard of Julienas 'Roche Bleue' comes wine from slightly older Gamay vines, averaging 50 years. Carrying aromas peony and violet flowers this wine is a perfect accompaniament to chicken in wine or cream sauces.
The Moulin a Vent Les Burdelines Domaine Laurent Perrachon, is a suave wine that offers great depth and balance. Comprised of 100% Gamay from vines as old as 65 years, this is a wine that while approachable now, will reward cellaring for a year or two.
