A single cask Glenrothes from Signatory Vintage drawn from a refill sherry butt. The cask was filled in June 1997 and left to mature until December 2016, when it was bottled for the highly-regarded Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Aged in a single sherry butt, which clearly looks as though it's given the whisky a wealth of colour, this Glenrothes was bottled at 12 years old with an ABV of 48.4%. It was distilled in May 2004 and the cask was emptied in June 2016, producing 560 bottles of delicious Speyside single malt.

The first edition of this whisky was originally bottled in 2009, when then-Malt Master John Ramsay set aside some of the whisky that needed more time. This is that whisky, which after being matured in a combination of American Sherry hogsheads and refill Sherry butts, was bottled in 2016.
