Known for their more exotic cask finishing, independent bottler Murray McDavid have kept things simple with this Loch Lomond single grain whisky. After maturing in ex-bourbon casks for a decade, the spirit was then moved into fresh ex-bourbon wood for the final 8 years.
The 15 year old Speyburn is a relatively new addition to the distillery’s range of whiskies. This one has spent time maturing in American and Spanish oak (presumably these were ex-sherry casks rather than oak grown in Spain). And it’s bottled at a splendid 46% ABV.

Rascan is another addition to the set ofpeated single malts in the Ancnoc range, from the Knockdhu distillery. This particular whisky was peated to 11.1 PPM before spending it's time ageing in ex-bourbon barrels for some time.
Distilled in 2008, this is a delicious release from Deanston aged entirely in Bordeaux wine casks for 9 years. It was bottled at 58.7% ABV without chill-filtration and offers plenty of malty and fruity notes leant from the oak.

Released as part of a series of wood finishes from Highland's Glenglassaugh distillery, this expression was left to age in ruby Port pipes for it's final years. The result is a sweet port-like finish with plenty of dark fruity notes to go at.
