New Arrivals from Chateau Coutet

Chateau Coutet is an ancient estate, referred to by Thomas Jefferson in the late eighteenth century as the finest vineyard in Barsac. The name Coutet, a Gascon word meaning ' knife', derives from the fresh, cutting acidity which is a signature the wines in their youth. As with all fine Sauternes and Barsac wines, the yields are very low, at 9 hectolitres per hectare(Fine reds are cultivated at 25-45 hl/ha), from 75% Semillon, 23 % Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle.
