New Arrivals from Chateau Phelan Segur

Bernard O'Phelan, an Irish wine merchant from Tipperary dreamed of producing his own wines. In 1805 he would begin to fulfill his dream with the acquisition of Clos de Garramey in Saint-Estephe and later in 1810 the Segur de Cabanac estate! The passion for winemaking in the Phelan family is most evident in the elegant Palladian chateau which was built combined with the vat room and the cellar, so no distance separated them from their beloved craft.

In 1985, the estate would enter the capable hands of Xavier Gardinier, the man who had been part of the story of Champagne Lanson and Pommery. He and his sons would modernise the winemaking capabilities of the estate, and invest in the vineyard.

The vineyard is planted to 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 1.5% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
