Egly-Ouriet is located in Ambonnay, one of the finest villages for Pinot Noir in the whole of Champagne. Here, the fourth generation in his family, Francis Egly manages the vineyards and creates Champagne wines of incredible quality. After his father retired, Francis took to organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyards and ensured low yields.
As his winemaking style, Francis goes for extended aging 'sur lie', with a minimum of four years prior to disgorgement, and prefers a lower pressure in bottles, so the carbonation doesn't mask the base wine!
