France from Chateau Leoville Las Cases

The large estate of Chateau Leoville-Las Cases was divided during the French Revolution to give birth to Chateau Leoville Barton, and again in 1840 creating Chateau Leoville-Poyferre. Keeping the original name, Chateau Leoville-Las Cases remains the largest of the Leoville chateaux.

The vineyard encompasses 98 hectares with 66% of vines representing Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Chateau Leoville was one of the first Bordeaux wine estates to produce a second wine ‘Le Petit Lion’ starting from the 2007 vintage to preserve the quality of the Grand Vin.
