Chateau Cheval Blanc

Chateau Cheval Blanc is consistently brilliant and along with Chateau Ausone is regarded as the finest of the Saint Emilion Estates. A wine of great finesse and harmony with often as much as 50% Cabernet Franc in the blend. The finest vintages are decandent but wonderfully graceful. They can be very long lived, the 1947 is still regarded as one of the finest Bordeaux wines of the twentieth century.  The 1982 is legndary too, the 1989 a relative bargain and the 1998 a vintage to seek out, a modern day equivalent of the 1947 according to Estate manager Pierre Lurton. The 2010 is also near perfect, but is priced accordingly...
