We can thank 1994 for being one of the many excellent vintages from Chateau Angelus which led to the classification of the estate as a Premier Grand Cru in 1996. Fabulously mature, we recommend drinking this over the next few years!
1998 was labeled 'La Subtilite' by the winemakers at Chateau Angelus for its broad aromatic range. This lush wine is now nicely mature, but will go on for a few more years with no problems!
Vintage blend: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc.
Despite low yields of the grape, the 1994 Cheval Blanc is a Cabernet Franc vintage, with the aromatic intensity of which permeating through the wine. Lacking the weight of the '95, this wine focuses on freshness and elegance.
Now at its peak, this should be drunk over the next five years.
