The 1998 was born as a rather harsh wine which needed a few years to settle down. Today it's drinking well with smooth tannins, and the sweetness is well balanced with plenty of fresh acidity! Drink now, or hold for a few more years.
1998 was labeled 'La Subtilite' by the winemakers at Chateau Angelus for its broad aromatic range. This lush wine is now nicely mature, but will go on for a few more years with no problems!
Vintage blend: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc.
Chateau Margaux 1998 is drinking really nicely at the moment! Medium bodied and rich, complex aromas are abundant in a glass. In the magnum format, it is possible to enjoy this vintage over the next couple of decades!
