Pomerol's Chateau Vray Croix de Gay was founded in the late 1800's by Joseph Brisson. He had purchased a plot of land known as Domaine des Grands Champs and developed the estate and its vineyards from there. In modern times, the negiotiant, Ets. Moueix, was responsible for making the wines and selling them on. However, Brisson's descendents ended the arrangement in 2005 by moving the winemaking efforts to their other property, Chateau Siaurac in Lalande de Pomerol. New winemaking facilities are currently in production at Vray Croix de Gay, to be completed in 2020.
The vineyards cover 3.67 hectares and are planted to 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, with vines averaging 45 years old.
