Chateau Beausejour Duffau Lagarrosse began life in 1847 as a part of what is now Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot. In 1869 the estate was divided as the owner, Pierre-Paulin Ducarpe left equal parts to his son and daughter. Ducarpe’s daughter married and took the name of her husband, Duffau-Lagarrosse. The estate has remained in the family, currently owned by Jean Duffau Lagarrosse.
The 5.7 hectare Bordeaux vineyard on the Right Bank is planted to 81% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are harvested manually and undergo a cold pre-fermentation before whole berry fermentation.
