Bordeaux's first and finest growths were established at the 1885 great Exhibition in Paris. Lafite, Latour, Margaux and Haut Brion were given the highest accolade along with the fabled sweet wine of Chateau Yquem. In 1973 after a dogged battle over decades, Baron Philippe de Rothschild finally managed to secure rightful Premier Cru status for his beloved Chateau Mouton Rothschild.
