Maison Remoissenet Pere et Fils is among the wealthiest domaines in Burgundy, not least because it produces some seriously good red and white wines from the Grand and Premier Cru sites from across the region. The domaine was family run between 1877 and 2005, gradually expanding the vineyards and establishing trusted relationships with other growers in the region from whom some fruit is bought. These grapes are taken for their quality, rather than quantity, and significant financial rewards are available to growers who produce exceptional fruit.
In 2005, the last member of the Remoissenet family, Roland Remoissenet, retired after thirty years at the wheel of the domaine. The company was sold to Edward and Howard Milstein of New York, Toronto-based Halpern Enterprises, and Maison Louis Jadot who's former president took over as managing director at Remoissenet Pere et Fils.
