The recent popularity of Rose Champagne might be why this wine is placed among our best sellers, but it could just be tasty stuff! Made from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, the red fruits come pouring through on the nose, full flavoured and intense.
We have been importers of these fine Champagnes since the 1980's, well established as favourites amongst our client base. Small grower Champagnes are becoming more popular offering great quality and individuality over the famous Grand Marques Maisons of Reims and Epernay.
The Gremillet family's estate is found in in the village of Balnot-Sur -Laignes in the Aube department. They make a range of styles including the rounded Pinot Noir dominated Gremillet Brut Selection, the very popular Brut Rose and the very fine Cuvee des Dames, a Blanc de Blancs pure Chardonnay blend which ages very well and expresses gorgeous Brioche and honeyed flavours.
Pale at the rim, with pale pink and a hink of copper at the core, bright and clear with fine bubbles, the nose, is delicately fruity with strawberry notes, and lemon buscuits, the palate is caressing, with an authentic Champagne vibe, hints of brioche, the balance is good, plenty of citrus aligned to the generous fruit flavours. The finish is elegant, a touch of austerity from the Pinot Noir domination holding the length well. This is fine stuff and great value for an ever popular Rose Champagne.
The Look: A genuine rosé with a pretty, deep pink, sun-drenched hue. Bright, luminous and limpid with fine, colourful, lively bubbles.
The Nose: The nose is a symphony of freshly picked red fruit that captivates the senses.
The Taste: The taste is lusciously fruity, each bubble seems to be a different berry that explodes on the pallet like a musical note: first a cherry, then a raspberry and a redcurrant, then a strawberry, a blackcurrant and even a blueberry…The pleasure just goes on and on, this Champagne is like a perfumed kiss that makes you want to toast happiness, life and love.
