Introduced for the first time in May 2008, Bollinger Rose was in the making a dream of the House for almost a decade. This wine evolved not as a curiosity, but as with all of the Bollinger Cuvées, as a careful assembly of the very finest ingredients by their talented, passionate team. In the meticulous House style, Bollinger Rose is modelled on the Special Cuvée blend, combining the fruits of previous harvests plus the addition of reserve wines from their cellars in Ay. The final component, which provides colour and delicate aromas of ripe red fruits, is a proportion of still red wine coming exclusively from Bollinger’s Grand Cru Vineyards in the Cote d’Ay and Verzenay.

Information About Bollinger

The House of Bollinger was founded in the village of Ay in the Vallee de La Marne in 1829. This is one of the key centres of excellence in Champagne production, with 100% Grands Crus Vineyards surrounding the property.

Jacques Bollinger took over the family firm in 1918 from his father George, it was Jacques' marriage to Emily Law de Lauriston Bourbers known as "Lilly" which pushed the Bollinger brand onto new heights as she was a great ambassador, travelling the world tirelessly to promote the great wines.  She famously said...

"I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it..unless I’m thirsty."

One of the worlds finest rose Champagnes, this is rich and distinguished enough to go with a main course. Made with the addition of the best Grand Cru red wines from Ay and Verzenay to NV Bolly, it is an intense, cherry scented wine.Matthew Jukes, Daily Mail, 14 February 2009
